This year I worked on many drawings – everything from realism to abstraction. Tonal control and composition are main focuses. Images of simple or complex patterns draw me, sometimes without thought of content. Organic images are most appealing. Urban images call and challenge with lines, details and perspectives.
My work in Surreal has not developed. The dream image is often the platform of Surreal art. Here are two images driven by dreams. The large animal outside waiting and the underground labyrinth are familiar. Details and reference images are purely exploratory.
It will be interesting to see if this new focus will bring forth good art – either in drawings or paintings.

inThis reminds me of my subway photos – not quite there and yet very strong colours.
Last week I had that shoot with a girl and fancy old car. And there are many photographs yet to edit, but this one was love at first sight. This is me. If I should define my style, or one of my styles or dreams what would be my style in the future at photography, this picture would be it. I think this can tell many different stories to different viewers.
I cannot thank that girl enough…Just so happy that I got to do her first portrait session ever. And hopefully we will meet again!
I hope you all have had great week, and awesome weekend ahead. I will be working, but that is awesome for me!

inSo elegant – love these photos.
December 18, 2014…Day 510
The long lines and subtle curves in the model’s posture makes this picture (for me anyway).
One light was used, it was placed to the right of the frame and a little in front of the model. The light was placed so the model would illuminated from one side while the rest of her body would in shadow.
This is a digital image processed in Lightroom. The contrast and exposure were adjusted and the image was rendered to a monochrome via a Lightroom Preset. The image was cropped slightly.
I’ve been asked if my images are for sale, most are, please ask.
Seeking gallery representation.

inA reminder not to get lost – on the journey
The truth is always simple
The journey is not
Humans complicate
The result
Common core
A lost society
That can’t find its way home

This is so wonderful – the sweet clarity of poetry. I can’t believe I forget. It is grand that I have this opportunity to interact with this art-form. Hope you enjoy this poet as much as I do.
Ok, I’m just gonna go ahead and say it. I miss having a structure and a deadline to write poems. I really do. It’s like part of my day is missing. So I wrote more poems, off the top of my head. And I feel better about life.
I Wrote 10 Poems in 20 Minutes (7:09)
Day 11-23
Poem 1:
I’d like to think I’m good
A good person
Who does good
Well
Well, I mean, I’m not sure anymore
I can’t find a good judge
Someone who’ll fair judge me
And say,
Yes you do good.
Poem 2:
I spoke to my sister today
In a way I haven’t in a while
We talked of all we’d loved
All we’ve had
All she’s loved.
Because she has that in her
To love, this man
She loves him.
I’ve never had that in me,
I’m not sure, it’s even there.

This image is from a local Canadian photographer – Bonnie Sitter. She does images from Huron County and has published works. She kindly offered this image copyright free. This image has many memories for me of my father working day and night in the fields, trying to outwit the weather gods. I too have memories of driving the tractors in the cold with wind and ice pellets hitting me or covered in snow – as I never got the tractors with the cabs. Thanks Bonnie for the image.

I hope this one is finished – I am always tempted to revisit realism pieces until they are like jewelry. This painting is in acrylic on canvas board. It is directly in response to all the visits I’ve made to the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Alex Colville exhibit. Once more the image comes from the archives at Paint My Photo.
